69. Christchurch

Originally a Saxon settlement called Twyneham. It possesses the highest proportion of elderly residents in the entire UK! It is dominated by Christchurch Priory. We went for lunch in a restaurantbthere, and aspin around the Priory.

Below: On top of the priory tower is a salmon weather vane, which commemorates the gift of the first salmon of the season to the Prior by Richard de Redvers, 3rd Earl of Devon, in memory of his father.
